Herbert Jones III of Lancaster has qualified to compete in the Hershey Track and Field state meet.
Hershey has sponsored track and field for the last 34 years, giving young athletes ages 9-14 the chance to compete in running, jumping and throwing.
On April 30, Jones competed unattached at Richland Northeast High School in Columbia at the Hershey Central District meet.
Jones advanced to state, placing second in the 1600-meter run and third in the 800-meter run.
