  • Ozone stars win district, claim state berth
    Staff Reports The Lancaster Dixie Baseball Ozone stars did it the hard way, but got it done. The Ozone stars, on the final day of the tournament after battling out of the loser’s bracket, need two wins to capture the district title and a bid to the state championship tournament and completed the task as they defeated the Rock Hill Nationals, 9-4, 5-4. The Ozone state tourney will be played at the new complex in Georgetown July 14-19. Lancaster, the District 2 champions, will play the District 5 champs at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14.
  • Makos take win over Waves
    Staff Reports The Lancaster Makos capped their regular-season swim campaign, taking a 319-206 win over the Chester Waves on Thursday, June 28. Jennifer Hinton, Will Burton, Michaela Burton, Anna Funderburk and Catherine Abbott each posted four wins to pace the Makos. Makena Barker, Jaden Young, Taylor Teague, Coulter Jackson and Bryce Blanton each registered three firsts. Grayson Young notched two wins. Zack Mothershed, Riley Burton, Maraya Hinton, Hailley Burton and Brooks Digh each had a win for the Makos.
  • Foursome's 51 wins Taylor Memorial golf tournament
    The winning team shot a 21-under to capture the title in the seventh annual Jimmy Taylor Sr., Memorial golf tournament at Edgewater Golf Club on Saturday, June. 16. The winning team, with a 51, included Leroy Roseborough, James “Slim” Boulder, Kenue Dunlap and Bobby Ellis.
  • Alexis King paces CPTC AAU National qualifiers
          Alexis King, a 13-14 girls competitor with the Columbus Parker Track Club, led the way as the CPTC qualified 11 athletes to compete in the AAU Nationals to be held at Turner Stadium in Houston, Texas.

          The Lancaster Dixie Boys 13 all-stars had plenty to celebrate on Independence Day, 2012.

          The Lancaster Post 31 seniors continued their run for the American Legion League V baseball crown with an 11-4 road win over Chester Post 27 on Tuesday night.

    The Lancaster Dixie Baseball Ozone all-stars, ages 11-12, stayed unbeaten in the district tournament at Rodman Park in Chester County with a 10-7 win over York Central on Monday.

    The Lancaster Tigers capped their regular-season schedule, taking a 361-161 win over the Kershaw swim team on Thursday, June 28. Simon Wright and Lauren Spencer led the Tigers with four firsts each. Kershaw swimmers Luke Sowell and Connor Poston had four wins apiece.
