The University of South Carolina Lancaster Lancers capped a four-game series (two twin bills) with an 11-7 win over the Florence-Darlington Tech Stingers in the opener on Sunday, April 14.
In the four-run win, the Lancers lashed 15 hits.
The 22nd annual Crenshaw Oil Golf Tournament, scheduled for Friday, April 19 at the Lancaster Golf Club, has been moved to Friday, April 26.
The tournament was reset due to the forecast for rain on Friday, April 19.
Two Lancaster area girls, who are students at A.R. Rucker Middle School, produced outstanding performances in the S.C. Junior Disc Golf Championship held in Anderson over the weekend.
Alexandria Lambert, 13 and an eighth-grader at Rucker Middle, topped the field with a 68. She also won the distance competition with a 260-foot effort.
The University of South Carolina Lancers’ baseball team closed play in a four-game series with host Louisburg College, dropping both games of a Region X road twin bill on Sunday, April 7.
The Hurricanes downed the Lancers, 3-2 and 10-4.
The University of South Carolina Lancaster baseball team posted its sixth win in seven games in a twin bill split with Region X foe USC Salkehatchie on Saturday, March 30 at the Lancaster High School baseball field.
The Lancers split the twin bill, taking a 6-0 win in the opener.
