The Lancaster North small fry stars drove 80 yards in three plays and 1:29 to capture the two-point victory and the Central District championship.

The University of South Carolina, a blend of Gamecocks and USCL Lancers, posted a comeback win in the 10th annual Big Thursday Scholarship golf tournament at the Lancaster Golf Club on Thursday afternoon.
The USC team, which included golfers sporting USCL royal blue and USC garnet and black, rallied from a 4.5-1.1 deficit to take the comeback victory, 8.5-6.5

The Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission North small fry all-stars rolled to a 30-12 opening round win over Fairfield County on Friday night at Memorial Stadium.
The North small fry all-stars, ages 9-10, snapped a 6-all tie with the first of two Kemarkio Cloud touchdowns to take a 12-6 lead on the way to the 18-point win.
Dorian Williams’ one-yard run and Williams’ two-point conversion run put Lancaster County North up, 22-6, but Fairfield County answered.
A host of area teams garnered hardwood honors at the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association preseason banquet in Columbia on Wednesday.
Two Lancaster County teams – the Lancaster High School boys and Andrew Jackson High School girls – were ranked in the top five of their respective classifications.
The Bruins are ranked No. 5 in Class AAAA boys, while the Andrew Jackson High Lady Volunteers are rated No. 3 in Class AA girls.

The Palmetto United Futbol Club GU12 Fury continued its success in impressive fashion.
The Fury won its third straight soccer tournament to bring home the title in the top division of the Capital Area Soccer League Girls Shootout in Raleigh, N.C., on Nov. 5-6.
The PUFC Fury, based out of Fort Mill, has team members from the surronding area of Indian Land, Lake Wyllie, Fort Mill, Tega Cay and Clover.
