  • Ozone stars close in on district crown
      The Lancaster Dixie Youth Baseball Ozone all-star team continued to win in impressive fashion with a 15-0 victory over York on Tuesday night, June 16 at Ronnie Gandy Field in Lancaster’s Wylie Park Complex.
  • P-31 rebounds, tops York
      Lancaster Post 31 rebounded from a road loss to Rock Hill to even its record at 3-3 with a 9-4 win over York Post 66 on Wednesday, June 17 at Eggleton Field. The game was originally set for Tuesday, June 16, but pushed ahead a day.
  • Ozone stars roll in tourney opener
      The Lancaster Dixie Baseball all-stars started strong in the District 2 Ozone tournament with a 12-0 win over Lewisville on Monday, June 15. The Lancaster Ozone stars advanced to play York on Tuesday, June 16 at 8 p.m.
  • LCST posts home win over Camden
     The Lancaster County swim team opened its 2015 season with a 376-142 win over Camden at the Lancaster County Pool on Tuesday, June 9. The LCST was slated to open the season June 7 in a meet at Kershaw, but the meet was canceled due to a storm, including lightning.
  • Lancaster Dixie Baseball salutes award winners
      Lancaster Dixie Baseball recently honored its top teams, players and coaches during the annual LDB awards night. The honors were presented after the the league’s city championship.
  • Post 31 returns to play Monday night
      The Lancaster Post 31 American Legion baseball team will return to play Monday, June 15 when it ventures to Rock Hill Post 34 for a 7 p.m. League V game. Lancaster, 2-2, has been idle for two weeks due to high school graduation in Lancaster and York counties.
  • Rangers select Pelham
      C.D. Pelham knows the drill and what’s ahead for the former Lancaster High School baseball star. Pelham, for the second straight year, was drafted in the annual Major League Baseball Draft.
  • Springdale Complex sports major facilities upgrade
      The Springdale Baseball/Softball Complex has a new look. Lancaster County Parks and Recreation has  to announced the Springdale Baseball/Softball Complex, 260 South Plantation Road, has received a face lift and improvements to better serve Lancaster County residents.
  • Chesser shines in Senior Games
      Former Lancaster High School athlete John Chesser has still got it. Chesser, who played football, basketball and baseball at Lancaster High where he graduated in 1950, recently displayed his athletic prowess at the Gaston County, N.C., Parks and Rec Senior Games series.
  • Sowell leads play in LJGA opener
      Mason Sowell paced the links effort as the Lancaster chapter of the S.C. Junior Golf Association opened its 2015 tournament season at the Kershaw Golf Club on Monday, June 8. Sowell shot an even par 72 (35-37) over 18 holes from the white tees with three birdies to top the boys 13-14 division at the KGC.
