    from Panthers.com CHARLOTTE – If a Miami fan buoyed by the Dolphins’ 3-0 start had tried to map out how the rest of the season might play out, they might have worried about Miami looking past this week’s game against the Panthers toward next week’s division matchup with the New York Jets. Now that the game has arrived, Panthers fans are the ones that might be worried about a letdown.
  • Practice firearm safety during hunting season
    S.C. Department of Natural Resources release This hunting season the S.C. Department of Natural Resources is joining  the National Shooting Sports Foundation to remind hunters that safety remains at the core of America’s hunting traditions. “This is a time of year when a lot of firearms are in use and in transport,” said Lt. Billy Downer with Department of Natural Resources’ hunter/boater education program.

        The 2013 Moriah Youth Basketball league opens play Monday, Dec. 9. Games will be played on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights.

      The Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission mite all-stars football team was mighty in its Central District opener, rolling to a 30-0 win over Tega Cay at Rock Hill’s Hargett Park on Saturday, Nov. 15.
  • Lancaster team prevails in second disc golf victory
      Disc golf action resumed at Elon Park as the Lancaster kids traveled to their second match against Elon Park Elementary’s disc golf club. The format, as in the first match at the North Elementary course, featured nine holes of individual stroke play followed by a round of best-shot pairs competition.
  • Former AJ star Shropshire joins Coffeyville HOF
      When Darrell Shropshire left Coffeyville Junior College 11 years ago, he was regarded as one of the nation’s top junior college defensive lineman. When Shropshire, the former Andrew Jackson High School football star, returned Saturday, Oct. 26, he was hailed as one of the Red Raven’s all-time greats.
  • Rec football stars set to open district play Saturday
      The Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission youth football all-stars are scheduled to open postseason play Saturday, Nov. 16. The Lancaster County small fry all-stars, ages 9-10, will play at Fort Mill High School.
  • LCPRC salutes top teams, all-star squads
      The Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission presented its awards for the 2013 youth soccer season in the small fry (10-under), mite (12-under) and midget (15-under) leagues at the Springdale Recreation Center on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
  • North disc golf team defeats Elon Park in opening meet
      Students and parents from Lancaster hosted the Elon Park Elementary School Disc Golf Club in a competitive meet at the North Elementary School Disc Golf Course. The format featured a nine-hole round of stroke play followed by a round of best shot pairs competition.
