The Lancaster County Council of the Arts is sponsoring Night of the Living Arts –ARToberfest, its annual adult fall arts crawl, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at downtown Lancaster businesses and galleries.
The race to fill the soon-to-be-empty seat of South Carolina Superintendent of Education Dr. Mick Zais is among the most watched in the state this year.
Not only will the winner replace one of the most polarizing state school superintendents in recent memory, Zais’ elected successor will also oversee initiatives begun under his watch, most notably the reworking of the state’s curriculum and its accountability system.

The short answer is that incorporation in and of itself cannot protect Van Wyck against TreeTops’ development. What incorporation can do is protect Van Wyck against the catastrophic effects of the unrestrained residential development that will follow TreeTops’ development.

I have been collecting information about Heath Springs football since the school closed in 1969 up to the present day. I have interviewed players from every team from 1949 through 1968 and I played for coaches Calvin “Pap” McCaw and Sidney Max Cauthen.
