The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a flood warning for portions of Lancaster County along the Catawba River until late Sunday, May 12, or until the warning is canceled.
According to the weather service, at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, the flood stage of Lake Wateree was at 101.9 feet.
Flood stage is the level at which a river, stream, ocean or other body of water has risen to cause sufficient inundation of areas not normally covered by water that threatens or causes inconveniences to life and property.
