Karen Denise Fischer of Lancaster and Nathan Lee Mackey of Charlotte were united in marriage on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at one o’clock in the afternoon at Sherwood Baptist Church in Lancaster. The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Rusty McAlister. Music for the ceremony was provided by pianist Kathy Weiss and organist Bob Hickling.

Voters for a Town of Indian Land announced Tuesday that the group has gathered enough petition signatures to move forward with its effort to incorporate much of the Panhandle.

CHESTERFIELD – The Andrew Jackson High Volunteers made the most of a Region IV-AA road trip to Chesterfield on Tuesday night.
The sixth-rated Lady Vols topped the CHS Lady Rams, 46-35 and the No. 2 AJ boys rolled to a 64-49 win.
The AJ boys teams had a fast-paced with the CHS boys.
Several fast breaks and full-court runs made the game exciting.
The Volunteers gained the lead in the first quarter, 20-8, and kept the advantage for the rest of the game.

The Lady Vols made a hard charge only to fall short in the girls’ title game, losing to Cuthbertson of Waxhaw, N.C., 58-48.
