Ever been to a movin’ picture show? Know what life was like without phones, television or air conditioning? When the laundry was done on a scrub board and hung out to dry on bushes, or a clothes line for the more elite. When travel was mostly done with a buggy, pulled by a horse or mules, on dirt roads that were dusty or muddy and full of ruts, depending on the weather; when school ran three months. That is some of what life was like in Waxhaw many years ago.
