I am writing to complain about the condition of Taxahaw Road in Lancaster and Kershaw counties. This road runs from S.C. 903 in Lancaster across to S.C. 265 in Kershaw. I have lived off of Taxahaw Road for the past 20 years and it has always been in bad shape.
Other than a few tar patches now and then by the S.C. Department of Transportation, there has not been anything done to this road to significantly improve it.
Ever since the last major accumulation of snow in this area, this road has been in worse shape than ever.

A recent writer stated he was “mystified” why Greg Gregory wanted to run for Senate again. Perhaps he would be interested to know that every 10 years after the census is taken, the lines for Senate districts are redrawn based on changes in population.

This letter is in response to the letter to the editor, “No Need to Bring up Previous Fatalities.”   I am Susan Hardin, mother of the late Elyse Rebecca Hardin. The car crash that took Elyse’slife has been mentioned in several articles since her death. I would first like to state that I speak only for our family. I would never be so disrespectful as to speak for the other families who have also lost a child. They continue to be in our thoughts and prayers daily.

Brian Carnes is a successful small-businessman, and I think those who make it in the business world are the real leaders and voices of our state and country. They know how to take a risk and build upon it.
They have the common sense to make right decisions when serving in government, not just the politically correct decisions to get re-elected again and again or move up the food chain as many in office have done.
