National Nursing Home Week was May 8-14. This week is set aside each year to give back to the residents, staff and family members of long-term care facilities across our nation.
This year was extra special for White Oak of Lancaster. Our facility celebrated its 20th anniversary! Residents, their family members, employees and their families, as well as former employees and family members, attended a special anniversary celebration, held on the back lawn of the facility on the evening of Friday, May 13.

The Intercessory Church of Prayer held a community appreciation event April 23.
Many people came to help make the appreciation successful. We thank the community for their presence and their fellowship. We thank the church’s family and the community for help with this event.

The Lancaster Pan Hellenic-Council is made up of five Greek organizations – Omega Psi Phi and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternities and Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta sororities.
The National Pan Hellenic Council was incorporated in 1930, composed of nine international Greek letter sororities and fraternities. The NPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions.

I agree with everything that brother Steve Stewart said in the May 6 issue of The Lancaster News (Take care in celebrating death of bin Laden).
But I want to add this:
Christian people don’t rejoice when lost people die (whom the Lord died for) and go to hell.
Religious people do.
Christian people don’t rejoice when more than a million babies are murdered each year.
Religious people do.
Christian people didn’t stand around the cross and laugh and mock Jesus when he was crucified.
Religious people did.
