My regrets to letter writer Pat Eudy, who must endure the tragedy of  living in Indian Land and  be represented by only one area councilman. Makes one want to throw more tea overboard, doesn’t it?
Gosh, I recall the days when we traveled to Charlotte and had to ride past those overgrown farm lands with only Steele Hill AME Zion Church and its historical arbor, Mr. Pettus’ store and cotton gin, the residence with the large windmill and, last but not least, the pony farm bordering the state line.

I am happy to recommend Tamara Garris for re-election to City Council in District 4. I have had the pleasure of knowing her for 20 years. She is a hard worker and gets the job done.
Tamara has proven her leadership skills over the past four years. I have enjoyed reading about her online in The Lancaster News. It makes me feel good to read about someone doing something to make a difference in her community, instead of all of the killings going on in my hometown.

Dear Mayor Joe Shaw,
I was ecstatic to learn of the new Native American Studies Center in your town. On Thursday evening, Oct. 4, my family and I made the more than 100-mile trip to Lancaster for the grand opening.
It was all that we could have asked for and more. It is second to none and everyone involved should feel proud.  Thank you and your fellow City Council members for investing in this endeavor.

This letter is in response to Mary Reid’s letter, “Ability to vote is a privilege,” in the Sept. 23 edition of The Lancaster News.
Liberals continue to believe ideas known as lies that are contradicted by the evidence in history for ideological reasons. They prove that they are so selfish they will jeopardize the public good just to keep from admitting they are wrong.
