  • Letter: Worrisome threats around the world

Syria is led by a tyrant. The United States was right in its actions against him.
We stopped Hitler, and we will stop the president of Syria.
Also, we are very close to a nuclear war. North Korea is a threat, and they have the nuclear bombs.
A nuclear war could be the end, because a nuclear war will cause a chain reaction. Boots on the ground. A lot of our brave men and women would die.
If you remember, a certain person said he likes war.
I pray for our brave men and women and for America.

  • Letter: Norman best choice for 5th District seat

Ralph Norman has the vote of this Marine Corps veteran, mother and wife of a business owner.
Mr. Norman is a virtuous man of principle. He says he will fight for conservative principles, and he will! He is strongly pro-family. He will fight to keep our nation safe and to keep our military strong.
He is not a politician. Ralph Norman is a citizen-servant. He will work for term limits. Ralph will leave the beloved community of his birth to help make both South Carolina and the USA safer and more prosperous.

  • Letter: Thanks to everyone who honored my son

I want to thank S.C. House Speaker Pro Tem Tommy Pope for helping rename the portion of Dave Lyle Boulevard for my son and to thank Mrs. Lyle and her family for okaying it.
A lot of love went into this. God bless you all and York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson and his family and all the police and others from Lancaster and Rock Hill for being there.
This was a beautiful thing you all did for my son, Deputy James Brent McCants, who was killed in the line of duty there in 1992. Rock Hill showed the respect and love it has for our police.

  • Letter: Background, ideas favor Ralph Norman

We believe Ralph Norman is the best choice for  Congress of our 5th District. He embodies integrity and conservatism, someone who can benefit all of us given both his political and business experience.
Ralph recently resigned from the S.C. House after eight years to save taxpayers dollars while focusing on his campaign.
We staunchly support Ralph Norman because he is a fiscal/ and social conservative who believes in smaller government.

  • Letter: Will IL incorporation benefit Sun City?

In the April 5 issue of Carolina Gateway, I read with concern as Russell Rhoads attacked Ginger Sheridan. She voiced her opinion about the additional cost of becoming an incorporated township. People on fixed income are concerned about added expense.

  • Letter: Eagle-eyed reader gets gracious thanks from writer

I would like to thank Katie Martin for her correction to my letter in last Friday’s paper, concerning the Israelites in the wilderness. Yes, it was 40 years and not 40 days.
Proverbs 15:32 states: If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.
Thank you so much for your correction!

  • Letter: The left is killing American culture

Many folks have stated on this page that we are in a mess. Some opinionators say the Republicans are the problem, and others blame the Democrats.
I believe the problem is that we as a nation have turned away from God and turned to the state as our god.
The George Soros Socialist Democrats are in a rage across America. They are running amuck because they ignore the laws of the land and only accept what they want. These people see no wrong in their actions because they are the arbiters of truth, right and wrong.

  • Letter: Israelites wandered 40 years, not days

In response to Christine Taylor’s letter from Friday, the Israelites actually wandered the desert for 40 years, not 40 days and 40 nights.
That was the length of time that Noah, his family and the animals spent on the ark.

  • Letter: Thanking Mulvaney for help on Dexcom

I want to share some good news with Lancaster News readers who responded to my letter to the editor last June 22. I asked for prayer on behalf of Sandra Knight Howard as she and her team of physicians sought help getting her the Dexcom glucose monitor she needed from Medicare.
Sandra was in dire need of this device because she had been diagnosed as severely diabetic and the pump would alert her when her breathing becomes dangerously low as she sleeps.

  • Letter: Supporting Norman, similar to Mulvaney

I attended a meet-the-candidate event for Ralph Norman at Craig Farm on Monday night. I have to say I was impressed. If you liked Mick Mulvaney, Mr. Norman is as close to him as I have seen. Therefore, he has my support.
