The Bible contains pictures of saving faith, the faith which brings people into a right relationship with God. In 2 Kings 5, Naaman, a leprous Syrian general, found cleansing through obeying the command of the Hebrew prophet Elisha.
Naaman was the courageous pagan commander of the Syrian army, highly regarded because through him God had given deliverance to Syria.
A young Jewish girl worked in Naaman’s home as a servant to his wife. She felt compassion for Naaman and mentioned to his wife that there was a prophet in Samaria who would heal him of his disease.
