The trees in downtown Lancaster are being removed because the large limbs were crowding buildings along some of the blocks. The root systems of some of the gum trees, below, were starting to buckle the curbs, sidewalks and pavers.

The city of Lancaster is protecting one of its primary investments by removing trees that are buckling sidewalks in its downtown Streetscape.
