    Mr. and Mrs. Charles McGriff announce the engagement of their daughter, Amelia LaTara McGriff, all of Lancaster, to Edgar Allen Henderson Jr. of Charlotte.
    The wedding is planned for 3 p.m. Aug. 15, 2015, at Flint Hill Baptist Church in Rock Hill.
    Miss McGriff is a graduate of Carolina Christian Academy. She received a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Clafin University and a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University. She is an executive producer for WCCB Charlotte.

  • Witmore-Knight Engagement

    Jeff and Lisa Witmore announce the engagement of their daughter, Tiffany Witmore, all of Monroe, N.C., to Kevin Knight of Lancaster.
    The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. April 18, 2015 at Homeplace Bed and Breakfast in Lancaster.
    Miss Witmore is the granddaughter of Clyde and Delores Rogers and Jesse and Shelia Witmore, all of Indian Trail, N.C. She is a 2008 graduate of Sun Valley High School. She is a preschool teacher at Image Church in Matthews, N.C.

    The wedding is planned for 5:30 p.m. April 25, 2015, at the White Homestead in Fort Mill.

    The wedding is planned for 2:30 p.m. May 9, 2015, at the home of the groom’s grandparents.

    Carl L. and Donna A. Ivey announce the engagement of their daughter, Martina Elizabeth Arias, all of Kershaw, to Grant Thomas Hoffman of Aiken.
    The wedding is planned for July 11, 2015 at New Life Freewill Baptist Church in Lancaster.
    Miss Arias is the granddaughter of Rachel Hatfield of Lancaster and the late Ralph Hatfield and Iris Arias of Alto, Ga. She is a 2009 graduate of Accelerated Christian Education through the Palmetto Homeschoolers Association. She is a student at Aiken Technical College and works for Buford Child Care Development.

  • McCorkle-Peagler Wedding

    Amanda Rene McCorkle and Quincy Jerome Peagler Jr. were married July 12, 2014 at Carnes Lake by the Rev. Brian Humphries.
    The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie McCorkle of Lancaster. She is the granddaughter of Fanny and Carl McCorkle of Charlotte. She is a 1997 graduate of West Mecklenberg High School and received a degree from York Technical College. She is a CNA at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

    Area firefighters and emergency crews responded to a fire at a reputed drug house north of Lancaster Friday morning, April 10, that deputies believe was intentionally set by the suspect in a domestic violence incident.

  • Judge rejects Massey claim

    After two days of testimony about the moments before and after 30-year-old Demarcus L. Robinson was shot to death following a Lancaster house party back in 2013, a judge ruled last week that Allen Wesley Massey is not immune from prosecution for the murder under the state’s ‘stand your ground’ law.
