  • Bailey's celebrate 75 years

    H. Paul and Elsie Threatt Bailey recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.

    They were married Sept. 12, 1942, in Lancaster and moved to Pensacola, Fla., in 1955.

  • Tanner–Moree Engagement

    John and Cherie Tanner announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Erin Tanner, to Cameron Jackson Moree, all of Lancaster.

    The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Dec. 2, 2017, at the Lancaster Cultural Arts Center in the Olde Presbyterian Church.

  • Winn–Faulkner Engagement

    Mrs. Beth Winn of Lancaster announces the engagement of her daughter, Wendy Elizabeth Winn, to Nathaniel Faulkner, both of Nashville, Tenn.

    The wedding is planned for 4:30 p.m. Oct. 21, 2017, at the Historic Travellers Rest Plantation in Nashville.

  • Junior Warriors drop first loss to Nation Ford

    The Indian Land Junior Warriors saw their four-game win streak stopped in a 28-6 road loss to the Nation Ford Junior Falcons on Thursday night.
    Nation Ford held a 12-6 lead at the half and added a pair of second-half scores on the way to the 22-point win.
    Indian Land’s lone touchdown came on Jiquese Tinsley’s eight-yard touchdown run.
    The Junior Warriors, who have an open date next week, return to play Oct. 11 with a home game with the Columbia High School jayvees.

    LHS swimmers sweep WK, Irmo
    The Lancaster Bruins posted a pair of wins over White Knoll and Irmo in prep swimming action on Wednesday at White Knoll High in Lexington.
    The Bruins swim team took a 224-100 win over White Knoll.
    The LHS boys downed WKHS, 123-45, and the LHS girls topped White Knoll, 101-55.
    Lancaster swept to five of six relay wins in the meet.
    The Bruins also took a 171-168 victory over Class AAAAA foe Irmo.
    The LHS girls downed Irmo, 89-81, but Irmo won the boys meet, 87-82.

  • Tight play highlights McMackin tourney

    Close play highlighted the 13th annual Neil McMackin Memorial golf tournament at the Lancaster Golf Club Sept. 15.
    The captain’s choice tournament, which drew a course capacity 33 teams, featured gross and net winners during play.
    In the gross division, the team of Jai Bell, Kevin Nobles, Scott Threatt and Jason Knight posted a 53 to take the win.
    A pair of teams tied for second, with each shooting a 55 in the gross division.

  • Falcons soar in win over Warriors

     

    INDIAN LAND – It was homecoming for the Indian Land Warriors and on

    Friday night they faced a team as desperate for a win as they were,

    the 1-3 Nation Ford Falcons.

    After a scoreless first quarter, the Falcons scored 31 straight points en route to a 31-7 win.

    The Falcons had a chance to score in the first period, but Ben Tuipolotu was

    stopped on fourth and one at the 18, ending a 64-yard drive.

    They also had a fumble in Indian Land's territory as well. The Falcons did not
