  • Fugitive still at large

    A Rock Hill man is wanted for assaulting a Lancaster resident with a pistol last weekend.
    Officers are searching for Frederick Vidal Ross, 38, 1654 Nicholson Avenue, Rock Hill, in connection with the pistol-whipping and robbery of a 14th Street man late Sunday night.
    Detectives with the Lancaster Police Department issued warrants on Ross for armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

  • Deputies names released from Monday night shooting

    The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the deputies involved in the Monday night shooting of Lancaster resident George Randall "Randy" Bowers: Deputy Jeramie MacKinson and Deputy Michael Kimbrell.

  • Car smoke leads to house fire in IL

    Nathan Pierce was shocked to see smoke suddenly coming from his 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix on Thursday evening. 

    Pierce, an Indian Land resident, had parked his car in the garage of his Hattington Drive home and went inside. But while he was cooking, he started to smell smoke.

    About 6:15 p.m., he stepped back into the garage, where smoke was coming from the front driver’s side of his car.

If you’ve followed this issue you know Griffin Brothers Enterprises is seeking a zoning change from R-45, rural residential/agricultural, to I-1, light industrial, to allow the construction and debris landfill to become a regional sanitary landfill.
    Waste Management is the company seeking to build the landfill that will accept household trash from North Carolina and South Carolina.

    A Lancaster man was injured late Sunday night after he was struck in the head during an attack.
    Officers are searching for suspects in the assault of a 14th Street resident who was pistol-whipped, according to a Lancaster Police Department incident report.
    The man’s roommate told officers the victim left to pay someone he owed money to, somewhere in the area of North Market Street, only blocks from the man’s home.
