    I don’t believe we have stopped since we started. I know the virtual world is full of the latest and greatest information, but many of you do not have that access.

  • Juniors split with Gaffney

    The Lancaster American Legion junior team split a League V doubleheader with Gaffney on Monday night.

    Lancaster, the League V champion, took the nightcap as ace hurler Jordan Brock tossed a no-hitter.

  • AA all-stars roll in opener



    The Lancaster Dixie Baseball AA all-stars had a rousing start to launch their district tournament hopes at Gandy Field in the Wylie Park Complex on Monday night.

  • Angels softball stars 3-0



    The Lancaster County Dixie Softball Angels all-stars remained unbeaten in the district tournament with a 10-4 win over Jefferson on Monday night at the Rodman Athletic Complex.

  • Tigers swim to win at Camden

    ved to 4-0 on the season with a 338-241 win over host Camden on Saturday.

    The Tigers, in the 97-point win, were paced by Charlee Brooke Henry, Lauren Spencer, Makenzie Henry, Jonah Faile and Jory Pettit who had four firsts each. Jonathan Wade, Brayden Kennington and Simon Wright each had three wins in the victory.

  • Baker notches two LMS wins



    Brandy Baker posted two wins to highlight Lancaster Motor Speedway action on Saturday night.

    Baker won the Super Street race and took the Crate Sportsman checkers.

  • Flags at half staff in honor of soldier killed in Afghanistan

    Flags will be at half staff from sunup to sundown on Thursday, June 30, in honor of Sgt. 1st Class Alvin A. Boatwright, of Lodge, S.C. who died on June 18, 2011 in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 


  • Shootings leave one dead, one wounded

    A man was killed and another was wounded after they were shot early Sunday morning.
    Lancaster police officers are investigating what happened to the two men, who were both found shot within an hour of each other.
    Officers, as well as Lancaster County Sheriff's deputies and Emergency Medical Services workers, found one of the men after responding to a report of a shooting victim at 507 Harris St., according to a police department press release.

  • Just where did all the whoopin' and hollerin' go?

    I have breaking news: Our neighborhoods have disappeared.
    The young folks moved away and the older folks have gotten older or moved on, too.
    What happened? Our neighborhoods are now full of strangers who seldom speak, much less wave.
    Why are there no children riding tricycles or scooters on the sidewalks?
    Shucks, most recently developed neighborhoods don’t even have sidewalks. For that matter, most of  the residents don’t even know what a scooter is.
