The Buford High School baseball team ventured to Due West on Saturday, seeking to keep alive its postseason hopes in an elimination game with Dixie.
BHS, which finished fourth in Conference III-A, dropped a tough 6-5 loss to Williston-Elko in the opening round of the Class A district playoffs.
BHS, 8-10, trailed 5-1, but rallied to tie the game before host W-E rallied to pull out the one-run win.
Colt Ellis, who worked 7.1 innings, took the loss. He allowed six runs – four earned, four hits and six walks.
