The city of Lancaster has a curfew for youth 17 and under and the Lancaster Police Department wants to remind parents that officers will be enforcing it as school gets out for summer.
From June 1 through Aug. 15, according to city ordinance, the curfew is from midnight to 6 a.m. It requires young people under 17 to be off public streets during those hours.
From Aug. 16 to May 31, the curfew is 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and midnight to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
The ordinance holds parents responsible for their children’s behavior.
