    And the unexpected is just what happened last Thursday afternoon. Rice was attacked by a Pit Bull.

    According to research, as many as 25 percent of the population believe Friday the 13th is a day of calamity.

    The fear of Friday the 13th is known as paraskevidekatriphobia (“para-ska-vee-decka-tri-phobia”), which stems from the Greek words for fear, Friday and 13. Friday the 13th happens three times in 2012 – today, April 13 and July 13.

  • Three men arrested in home invasion

    A group of men were arrested this week after they allegedly broke into a Lancaster home, demanded money and attacked a baby.
    Lancaster County sheriff's deputies were called to a home in 200 block of Clearwater Drive on Jan. 8 about a home invasion, according to a sheriff's office press release. After speaking with residents of the home, deputies quickly learned that a burglary and attempted armed robbery had just occurred.
    The residents told deputies they were sleeping when a group of men armed with handguns and wearing masks broke into their home.
