It started with the passing of the torch.
The opening ceremony came afterward. Then it was on to the games, to be followed by a medal ceremony.
The summer Olympic Games in Beijing wrapped up nearly two months ago. North Elementary School was inspired by that to hold its own Olympics, which was the theme for its annual fall field day.
"This was a way to branch off what happened in China and bring it home," parent coordinator Bridgett Plexico said. "Everybody participated."
Each of the school's 34 classes represented a different nation.
