  • Officers looking for owner of abandoned animals

    Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for a Lancaster woman, Heather Ann Hinson, 29, 217 W. Second St., Lancaster, in relation to a case of of abandoned animals.

    According to a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office report, about 4:30 p.m. June 18 deputies were dispatched to West Second Street in response to a complaint from neighbors about pets left behind at the residence.

  • Council waives fee for church

    A request from a local church to waive a building permit fee launched a discussion amongst county officials last month about exempting all religious institutions from similar fees. 

    The issue was discussed during Lancaster County Council’s June 23 meeting after county staff received a request from Antioch Baptist Church to waive building permit fees for a new sanctuary building.
