Generally, babies are born in a sterile environment of a hospital with caregivers around to make sure the delivery goes smoothly. That was not the case for Heath Springs resident Stacie Baker.
Baker was 29 weeks pregnant with twins when she woke about 5:15 a.m. Dec. 13 with labor pains. Thinking it was a false alarm, Baker tried to soak in the tub with hopes it would ease up. But when she got out of the water, the pains were coming on quickly and severely.
