CHESTER – Beginning Monday, May 11, motorists who use S.C. 97 (Great Falls Road) will need to find an alternate route.
S.C. Department of Transportation Resident Construction Engineer Jeremiah Bradley said construction on the Rocky Creek Bridge will begin Monday. Many Lancaster residents use that route to access I-77.
Construction was scheduled to begin last November, but the project has been hampered by several delays. SCDOT hoped to start construction in mid-January, but that was also postponed due to environmental permitting issues.
