    Ruby Lee Ivey Threatt, 82, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011 at her home. She was born May 12, 1929, in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late James Franklin Ivey and Julie Starnes Ivey. Mrs. Threatt was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church and was a retiree from Chesterfield Yarn. She was a loving mother and grandmother, she loved working in her yard taking care of her flowers and loved to fish.

     Born in Columbia on June 21, 1923, she was married to the late Robert Mack Robinson Jr. for 63 years. She was the daughter of the late William Pinckney Bull and Nettie O’Neil Walker.

    Nancy Louise McCoy Jowers, 70, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born July 25, 1941, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Moses Michael and Hattie Haire McCoy. Mrs. Jowers was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church and a member of the Lancaster Historical Commission, representing the 5th District and was a member of the SC Democratic Women’s Council.

    CHARLOTTE – George Theron Jenkins, 90, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews. He was born March 7, 1921, in Pageland, a son of the late George Mae Jenkins and Pauline Coker Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was member of Central Church of God in Charlotte. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend that lived life to the fullest and always with a smile.

    Wilma Willene Griffin Howle, 75

    Mrs. Wilma Willene Griffin Howle, 75, wife of George Colon Howle of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 4, 2011.

    Born June 28, 1936 in Union County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Ivan Van Griffin and the late Alice McManus Griffin. Mrs. Howle was a member of Unity Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wade Griffin.

    Carl Clark, 52, died Sunday, July 31, 2011.   

    He was the son of  the late Bobby McIlwain and the late Christine Clark.

    Survivors include two sons, Carl N. Hall and Kenneth A. Hall of Lancaster; a grandson; two brothers, Lonnie Clark and Hazel Clark of Lancaster; four sisters, Betty L. Jones, Mary A. McGriff, Bertha Clark, Brenda McIlwain, all of Lancaster.

  • Charles Craig Norkett, 70

    FORT MILL – Charles Craig Norkett, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Aug. 4, 2011, at Presbyterian Main in Charlotte.

    Born Feb. 22, 1941, in Cornelius, Mecklenburg County, N.C.

    Charles was a 1959 gradute of North Mecklenburg High School. He was the son of the late Charles Craig Norkett Sr. and Gertrude Guffey Norkett. He was retired from Rexham Printing Co., in Pineville, N.C., after 25 years of service and was the president and owner of Norkett Mobile Home Sales and Rentals in Fort Mill for 35 years.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Unity Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.

    Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church
