  • Norma Morris, 89

    KERSHAW – Norma Morris, 89, died Thursday, May 17, 2012.
    She was the daughter of the late Curtis and Lula Truesdale Horton.  
    Survivors include nephews, Jeffrey Horton of Kershaw and Larry Morris of Alamogordo, New Mexico.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Hope Avins, with burial in Kershaw City Cemetery.
    Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 305 W. Church Street, Kershaw, SC 29067.

    Henrietta W. Massey died on Saturday, May 19, 2012.

  • Walter Lee Hood, 62

    Walter Lee Hood, 62, died Thursday, May 10, 2012.  
    He was the son of the late Walter Hood Sr. and Mattie Shannon Hood.
    Survivors include three sisters, Margaret Tucker of Lancaster, Mattie Smith and Marilyn Hood of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, Milton Hood of Lancaster.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Mount Tabor AME Zion Church, conducted by the Rev. Roosevelt Alexander, with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia.
    The family is receiving friends at 1542 Chandler Place.

  • Philip Dean 'Phil' Hinson, 58

    KERSHAW – Funeral services for Philip Dean “Phil” Hinson, 58, will be held at 2 p.m., today, May 20, 2012, in Buffalo Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The  Revs. James Way, Donald Coppedge and Mr. Stanley Hinson will officiate.
    Mr. Hinson died Friday, May 18, at his home following a battle with cancer. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Guy Crawford and Mary Robinson Hinson. Mr. Hinson worked in construction, roofing and drilling.  He was also an avid vegetable gardener.

    Mae Bell Harris, 57, died Saturday, May 19, 2012.

  • Madeline Brown Harper, 57

    PAGELAND – Madeline Brown Harper, 57, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
    She was the daughter of the late James Harley “Bill” Brown and Cecil King Brown.
    Survivors include companion Gary Harper of the home; two daughters, Pam Robinson of Jefferson and Melanie Alvarez of Pageland; one son, Duane Harper of Fort Lawn; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Jesse M. Brown and Danny J. Brown both of Pageland.
    Services will be at 3 p.m. today, May 20, 2012 in Hope Family Worship Center, Pageland, with burial in Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

    CHESTER – H. Neil Love, 81, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the Chester Regional Nursing Center. The funeral service will be 4 p.m. today, May 13, 2012, at the Chester ARP Church with Rev. Clint Davis and Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating. The interment will in Chester Memorial Gardens.

    CHESTER – Brian Keith Hudson, 41, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his residence.
    A celebration of life service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at Parkway Baptist Church with Revs. Jay Dorsey and Brenda Curtis officiating.
    The interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 13, 2012, at Barron Funeral Home; and other times at the home, 1327 Moss Creek Drive, Chester.
