Roberts holds off Tucker to defend club championship

Newly crowned Lancaster Golf Club champion Scott Roberts mused in the pro shop after winning his fifth LGC title Sunday, he was headed home for a possible mid-afternoon nap.

That rest was deserved after Roberts, in defending his club crown, won a links battle with upstart Lancaster High School freshman golfer Mason Tucker.

Tucker, 14, nipped at Roberts’ heels over two days and 36 holes before the seasoned Roberts, 46, was able to hold him off for a five-stroke win.
