Lancaster Area Ride Service

Postby Barbara Rutledge » Wed Feb 01, 2012 2:20 pm

Lancaster County recently discussed funding for the Lancaster Area Ride Service, also known as LARS transportation system. There are some options available including grants. Do you have any suggestions how to fund this service that is used to transport county residents to doctor appointments etc?

Mrs. Rutledge,

I say seniors have paid their dues. I say we fund it in any way possible, if we have enough money to buld a new over-sized water office and a new court house, we owe this service to our seniors. I am a Republican and generally don't like spending any money unless it is truly a need not a want. Our seniors deserve more than thay get as it is, so lets fund it, we can find the money.

I also agree that we should assist the seniors in our county and that the LARS program needs to be funded. I must however correct Mr. King, the LCWSD (water company) is not a division of Lancaster County Government. It is a privately owned entity, therefore no county taxpayers money went towards the building of their new headquarters
