  • I was at a local gym the other day and noticed a sign on the wall. The sign read, “One hour of exercise is four percent of your day.”  

    That made me think; if we’re doing the exercise wrong, what percentage will we end up with? To gauge that from an efficient and exercise productivity stand point, I would say zero percent.

  • INDIAN LAND – American hero Jonathan Alan Roberts returned home from the War on Terror in August 2005. But for Roberts, the real battle of his life had just begun, one he continues to fight every day of his life.  

    Roberts, who joined the U.S. Army in summer 2002 as a Special Forces candidate, was deployed to Iraq with the 18th Airborne Corps following school and training at Forts Benning and Bragg.

  • The 6th Annual Great Falls Rescue Squad Pro Rodeo, sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association, will kick off with a performance by The Tams.

    The Tams will perform from 6 to 10 p.m. on June 7 at the Old Republic Ballfield behind the Great Falls Presbyterian Church at 500 Dearborn St., Great Falls.

    Gates open at 4 p.m.

    “Dancing will be allowed/expected,” Great Falls Rescue Squad Captain Terry Sims said. “And concessions will be available.”

  • A TV celebrity is coming to Great Falls as part of the Great Falls Rescue Squad’s 6th Annual Pro Rodeo.

    Si “Uncle Si” Robertson, who appears on A&E’s most-watched reality television series, “Duck Dynasty,”will be at the rodeo for a “meet and greet” session.

    Back for a third season, “Duck Dynasty” features a Louisiana bayou family – the Robertson family – living the American dream as they operate a thriving business while staying true to their family values and lifestyle.

  • There are many events that can be categorized as milestones in life – turning 16 or 21, getting married, having a baby or reaching a 50th wedding anniversary. But turning 100 years old is a milestone that warrants a large party, a party that draws hundreds of people.

    That’s exactly what happened at Morningside of Lancaster on March 16. Around 300 guests showed up to celebrate Ted Robinson’s 100th birthday at a party held in the parking lot on the Morningside campus.

  • Back in April 2007 when Mike and Mashalle Bailesfirst purchased their home at 930 Sherwood Circle, they realized the house and yard needed a little attention. With the windows of the house almost covered in overgrown hollies, English ivy and the thorny spikes of ileagnes throughout the yard, the Bailes had to make a few choices.

    Many of the shrubs were removed and replaced with slower growing lower maintenance varieties such as nandina.
