With the not-so-happy outcomes of many modern marriages, it’s welcoming news to hear of a marriage that has stood the tests of time.

George and Lola Kirkley met each other in 1937 in Jefferson when she was 16 and he was 17.

Lola, who lived in the Angelus community, was greeted by George in front of Long Branch Baptist Church in Jefferson before revival services.

Christan Leigh Chappell and James Darrelle Moseley II were married Nov. 17, 2012, at Andrew Jackson State Park by Cathy Balcome.
The bride is the daughter of Leigh and Rayford Chappell, both of Lancaster. She is a 2011 graduate of Lancaster High School and is a licensed cosmetologist at The Hairport Salon in Lancaster.
The groom is the son of Cathy Tarlton and James Moseley, both of Lancaster. He attended Lancaster High School and works for Asplund Tree Company.
Maid of honor was Stephanie Dixon of Lancaster.

Ralph Edwin Couch of Heath Springs and Mika Herring Couch of Lancaster, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay Shea Couch of Lancaster, to Dallas Grayson Glover of Charlotte.
A June wedding is planned at Second Baptist Church in Lancaster.
Miss Couch is the granddaughter of Daisy Sims Couch of Heath Springs and the late Ralph Elliott Couch and Valda Byrd Herring of Lancaster and the late Maxie Donald Herring.

Billy and Rachel Foster announce the engagement of their daughter, Grace Marie Foster, all of Lancaster, to the Rev. Robbie W. Taylor of Mount Croghan.
The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. March 23, 2013, at Lynwood Drive Church of God.
Miss Foster is the granddaughter of the late Floyd Foster, the late Grace Railey Mackey and the late Rev. and Mrs. Jim White. She is the mother of Hannah and Timothy Varnadore. She is a 1990 graduate of Lancaster High School.
