    The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Sept. 28, 2013, at Philadelphia United Methodist Church in Fort Mill.
    Miss Patterson is a graduate of Fort Mill High School and received an associate’s degree in dental hygiene from York Technical College.
    She works as a dental hygienist at Shiland Dentistry in Rock Hill.
    Mr. Pressley is the son of Mike and Vivian Pressley of Indian Land.

    Miss McCowan is the granddaughter of Evelyn McCowan Hunter and the late Thomas Wilton McCowan and of the late Julian Edward and Inez Carolyn Mills. She is a 2003 graduate of Lancaster High School and works as a stylist at Smartstyle.

    Rabies clinic

    Faulkner Animal Hospital will host a rabies clinic at several locations from 6 to 8 p.m. The clinic will offer rabies shots ($5), distemper/parvo shot ($16), bordetella or kennel cough ($16) each for dogs, and four-way feline distemper ($16), FIV-feline ($16) and FELV-feline ($16) each for cats.     “Many gardeners are facing a blank slate of bare soil, masses of dead patches that were once lawn or a bit of grass interspersed in a sea of weeds,” gardening expert Melinda Myers said.

  • An acclaimed New York City trombone quartet, The Guidonian Hand, is returning to Lancaster.

    This performance will be the 19th Vivian Major Robinson Classical Concert, sponsored by the Lancaster County Council of the Arts. The purpose of the concert series is to promote appreciation for – and enjoyment of – classical music in a variety of styles.
