  • Tom and Donna Burdette announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Marie Burdette, to Kevin Day Cauthen Jr., all of Lancaster.
    The wedding was planned for 3 p.m. Oct. 12, 2013, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Cauthen Sr.
    Miss Burdette is the granddaughter of Frances Steele and the late Benjamin Steele and of Lois Burdette and the late Harold Burdette. She is a 2001 graduate of Lancaster High School and received a bachelor’s degree in history from Winthrop University in 2005. She is an eighth-grade teacher at Buford Middle School.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Mark Robinson announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Robinson, all of Kershaw, to Jeremy Truesdell of Westville.
    The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Dec. 7, 2013, in Westville.
    Miss Robinson is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Haskell Hightower of Kershaw and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hartsell Robinson. She is a 2010 graduate of North Central High School and will earn a degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina in 2014.

  • Michael and Betty Morgan of North Wilkesboro, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Myka Catherine Morgan, to Robert Philip Jowers of Lancaster.
    The wedding is planned for 3 p.m. Oct. 5, 2013, in Surfside Beach.
    Miss Morgan is the granddaughter of Lola Morgan of London, Ky., and Mary Roberts of Taxwell, Tenn. She is a 2008 graduate of the Home School Association of North Wilkesboro. She is a veterinary technician at Riverview Animal Hospital in North Wilkesboro.

  • Heather Maree Rutledge and James Harold Walden II were married at 4 p.m. March 19, 2013, in Lancaster by Rena Thompson.
    The bride is the daughter of Phil and Angie Rutledge of Heath Springs. She was given in marriage by her father.
    The groom is the son of James and Sarah Walden of Lancaster.

  • Kelsie Ann Phillips of Kershaw and Justin Scott Threatt of Jefferson were married at 2 p.m. May 11, 2013, at Flint Ridge Baptist Church by the Revs.

    The bride is the daughter of John and Karen Phillips of Kershaw. She is the granddaughter of Carolyn Phillips of Kershaw and the late Franklin Phillips and of Ruth Post of Kershaw and the late Gordon Earls. She is a 2011 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and is studying at the University of South Carolina Lancaster. She works at Karen’s Classic Cuts.

  • Doren Marnae Crolley of St. Augustine, Fla., and Joshua David Craig of Sumter were married at 3 p.m. Aug. 17, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church in Sumter by the Rev. Steve Hendricks.

  • Mark and Teresa Knight Smith celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Aug. 5, 2013.
    They were honored July 20 with a dinner given by their family at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and later with a cruise to Belize.
    The couple was married Aug. 5, 1988 in Lancaster. They have one son, Mark Allen Smith and his fiancée, Meagan Webster, and two daughters, Kayla Smith and Terra Smith and her fiancé, Steven Smith. They have two grandsons, Tanner and Copper Smith.
