    Safety Family Fun Day

    Lancaster County Outreach Project will sponsor Safety Family Fun Day presented by BlueChoice HealthPlan Medicaid from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the S.C. Department of Social Services, 1837 Pageland Highway.

    Citadel of Love revival

    Citadel of Love Christian Fellowship, 1789 Lynwood Drive, will continue revival services at 7 p.m. today and Oct. 1. Guest speakers are the Rev. Gary Stevens of Zion Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Lancaster and Bishop Dr. George B. Jackson, founder of Citadel Ministries International and pastor of Citadel of Faith in Thomasville, N.C. All are welcome.

  • Rally in the Park: Our Vote Matters

    Rally in the Park: Our Vote Matters is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 1 at Preston Blackmon Southside Park, 500 Connor St. Rally activities include meeting the candidates, voter registration, free food, games, giveaways and music.

    Co-sponsors include The Lancaster Branch NAACP, Lancaster Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Iota Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

  • John and Anne McCulloch of Lancaster will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 14, 2016.
    The couple was married Sept. 14, 1956, in Atlanta, Ga.
    The McCullochs have two children, Becky Taylor and her husband, Darren, of Irmo and Russell McCulloch and his wife, Joni, of Alpharetta, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Jenna, Michael and Thomas.

  • Robert and Libby Threatt and Jeff and Patti Reynolds announce the engagement of their daughter, Jesse Elizabeth Reynolds, all of Lancaster, to Bradley Knight of Kershaw.
    The wedding is planned for 5 p.m. Nov. 5, 2016, at Harmony Oak Farms.

  • Joseph and Beverly Adams and Sandra and Seth Rodgers announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Brooke Adams, to Michael Christopher Cooper, all of Lancaster.
    The wedding is planned for 5 p.m. Oct. 23, 2016, in Monroe, N.C.
    Miss Adams is the granddaughter of Betty Catoe, the late Curtis Catoe, Linda Adams, the late David Adams, Donna Sellers and the late Delbert Sellers, all of Lancaster. She is a 2008 graduate of Lancaster High School, and a 2012 college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in nursing science. She is a nurse.

  • Paige Brumfield Butts and Ryan James Butts were married April 9, 2016, at Brakefield at Riverwalk in Rock Hill.
    The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Michelle Brumfield of Lancaster. She is the granddaughter of Donald and Diana Mortensen of Lancaster and Jewell and Evelyn Brumfield of Bogalusa, La.
    She is a 2008 graduate of Lancaster High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in exercise science, and a 2015 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a doctorate in physical therapy. She works as a physical therapist.

  • CLEMSON – The Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service and Carolina Clear have launched an initiative to help property owners install rain gardens to mitigate potential flood damage and help protect S.C. water quality.

  • Sarah Elizabeth Kelly of Tega Cay and Steven “Ryan” Capps of Rock Hill were married June 25, 2016, at The Dairy Barn in Fort Mill by the Rev. Joel McMakin.
    The bride is the daughter of Steve and Leslie Kelly of Tega Cay. She is the granddaughter of Hazel Bolton of Leesburg, Ga., and the late Robert Bolton Sr., the late Helen Kelly and the late Earl Kelly.
