  • Revival Services

    - Mount Zion Baptist Church, 6097 Flat Rock Road, Heath Springs, will have revival services at 7 p.m. July 31-Aug. 3. The evangelist for the week is the Rev. Kennedy Threatt Sr., pastor of Black Rock Baptist Church in Chester. Guest choirs include Second Calvary, Zion Pilgrim, Pleasant Valley, Cedar Rock, Bright Light, Mount Zion Kershaw, New Hope and First Kershaw. The special guest choir is Black Rock. Everyone is invited.

  • RFATS seeks input on bike/walk survey

    The Rock Hill – Fort Mill Area Transportation Study is undertaking an initiative to facilitate bicycle and pedestrian connectivity by creating bikeways, walkways and trails in the Panhandle.

    Filing opens for school board

  • - Lancaster First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1138 10th St., will kick off VBS from 5 to 8 p.m. July 30 with food and games. VBS is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 31-Aug. 4.

    - New Cut Presbyterian Church, 2617 New Cut Church Road, will kick off VBS with hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream at 6 p.m. July 31. VBS classes, crafts and games are from 6:30 to 8:30 July 31-Aug. 4. Supper is 6 p.m. daily. Classes are available for all ages, including adults. For details, visit www.newcutchurch.org.

    Dance schools are dusting off their equipment and sweeping their floors – dance season has begun.
    Nightly, the music will be blaring as young students learn new routines and dances. More importantly, the dancers will learn skills that will last long after the music stops and the season ends.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Brown announce the engagement of their daughter, Taylor Brown, all of Fort Lawn, to Cody Thompson of Lancaster.

    The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Oct. 1, 2016, in Lancaster.

  • Mr. and Mrs. James Daryl Roney announce the engagement of their daughter, Chelsea Lauren Roney, to Justin Devin Arant, all of Lancaster.

    The wedding is planned for 7 p.m. July 29, 2016, at Carnes Lake.

    Miss Roney is the granddaughter of Bill and Sherry Outen, the late Bronna Ackerman and the late George and Frances Roney. She is a 2009 graduate of Lancaster High School and a graduate of York Technical College. She is a medical office assistant at New Day Family Medicine.

  • Richard Wagner of Colorado and Bridgett Miller of Spartanburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Carmisha Ne’Shel Miller, to Jared Larnel White, both of Spartanburg.

    The wedding is planned for Sept. 17, 2016, at Foster Grove Baptist Church in Chesnee.

    The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Aug. 13, 2016, at First Washington Baptist Church.

  • Floyd “Billy” Foster Sr. and Rachel White Foster celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 2, 2016.

    The couple celebrated with a drop-in reception at the Lynwood Drive Church of God fellowship hall.

    They were married July 2, 1966, in Lancaster.
