  • Churches unite for Easter worship

To better unite the body of Christ, two local Presbyterian congregations – one majority white and one majority black – will hold a joint Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 5, on the lawn of First Presbyterian Church, 700 N. Main St.
In the event of rain, the service will be held inside the church.
The Rev. Lorenzo Small Sr., pastor of Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church, 912 Clinton Ave. and Elder David Ghent, a member of the Outreach and Missions ministry of First Presbyterian, said they are both excited about this joint fellowship.
