Hampton and Bertie Tucker Hinson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 17 with a reception given by their family at The Church of God in Fort Lawn. The couple married Jan. 18, 1955 in Lancaster.
The couple has three children, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Hampton is retired from International Paper Company and now pastors The Church of God.
Bertie worked at Springs Industries and several sewing plants and retired as a homemaker.
Mike and Mary Jane Respass announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Respass, all of Lancaster, to Jon D’Amato of Atlanta.
The wedding is planned for 3:30 p.m. April 16, 2016 in Charleston.
Miss Respass is a 2006 graduate of Buford High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Coastal Carolina University in 2010. She works as an account manager.
Mr. D’Amato is the son of Kathy Traylor of Atlanta and Tony D’Amato of Virginia Beach, Va.
Charles and Sophia Harris of Heath Springs announce the engagement of their son, LaCharles Harris of Sumter, to Susan McIntyre of Columbia.
The wedding is planned for 3 p.m. April 4, 2015, at the University of South Carolina Upstate.
Miss McIntyre is the daughter of Carolyn McIntyre of Spartanburg and the late James McIntyre. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is a manager at Walgreen’s.
Mr. Harris received a bachelor’s degree in music education and works as a music teacher.
Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hildreth announce the engagement of their daughter Amber Lee Hildreth, all of Lancaster, to Daniel Earl Pardue of Heath Springs.

Miss Hildreth is the granddaughter of Lester and Mildred Hildreth. She is a 2011 graduate of Buford High School and is a student at the University of South Carolina School of Nursing.
William Eli Whitesell III and Lynn R. Whitesell celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Jan. 14, 2015, with a dinner given by their children. The couple married in Lancaster on Jan. 14, 1951.
The couple has three children, William Eli Whitesell IV, Lark Whitesell Long and Lynn Whitesell. They have five grandchildren.
William retired from an airline cockpit crew after 38 years.
Lynn retired from being a registered nurse after 61 years.
Charles F. and Mechthild Diener Bowers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 29, 2014, with a dinner given in their honor by their family. The couple married at the Lancaster County Courthouse on Dec. 29, 1964.
The couple has two daughters, Caroline Bowers Hasty and her husband Glyn S. Hasty and Joan Bowers and Alan Johnson. They have three grandchildren, Gregory Sims, Georgie Hasty and Cara Hasty.

The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Laura Boone of Lancaster. She is a 2009 graduate of Buford High School and received an associate’s degree in science in 2013 from the University of South Carolina Lancaster. She works for ArrowPointe Federal Credit Union.
