  • Millers celebrate 65 years

    Calvin Pierce and Mickey Sharpton Miller of Lancaster celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 10, 2013.
    They were honored by Covenant Baptist Church where Pastor Bert Welch proclaimed that day as “Mickey and Calvin Miller Day” and presented them with a plaque in recognition of their leadership and support of the church since its founding in 1994.
    The JOY Sunday School class hosted a luncheon after the worship service in their honor.

    Harold and Terry DeWitt of Estill announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Claire DeWitt, to John Joseph McArdle.
    The wedding is scheduled for 3 p.m. May 18, 2013, at Rutledge Chapel at the University of South Carolina.

  • Deas-Wilson Engagement

    Mike and Gina Deas announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Hope Deas, all of Lancaster, to John David Wilson Jr. of Great Falls.
    The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. May 4, 2013, at Union Baptist Church.

  • Wilson-Phillips Wedding

    Amanda Jean Wilson and James David Phillips were married March 2, 2013, at Salem United Methodist Church in Heath Springs by William H. McCowen III.
    The bride is the daughter of Debbie Gillig of White Pine, Tenn. She is the granddaughter of Betty Mizell of Harleyville.
    The groom is the son of Becky Phillips of Lancaster.
    The bride was given in marriage by her son, Bailey, and her daughter, Genna.
    Music was provided by Jeff Catoe.
    A reception was held at Charley’s Café in Lancaster.

  • Morgan-Smith Wedding

    Alicia Amanda Morgan and Jeffrey Joseph Smith Jr. were married Nov. 17, 2012, by Terrence Neil Gordon at Secrets Resort and Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
    The bride is the daughter of Sue Morgan of Heath Springs and the late Keith Morgan. She is the granddaughter of Smith Morgan and Mary Morgan, both of Kershaw, and the late Stanley and Peggy Marshall. She is a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and of the University of South Carolina. She is the marketing/communications coordinator for the Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce.

  • Blackmon-Baus Wedding

    Brandy Lataine Blackmon and Michael Robert Baus were married May 12, 2012 at Sonlight Church of the Nazerene in Lancaster.
    The bride is the daughter of Foster and Mary Blackmon Jr. of Kershaw. She is the granddaughter of the late Wallace and Louise Barber and of the late Foster and Lessie Blackmon. She is a 1999 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and is a shift supervisor at Rite Aid in Kershaw.

  • Chappell-Moseley Wedding

    Christan Leigh Chappell and James Darrelle Moseley II were married Nov. 17, 2012, at Andrew Jackson State Park by Cathy Balcome.
    The bride is the daughter of Leigh and Rayford Chappell, both of Lancaster. She is a 2011 graduate of Lancaster High School and is a licensed cosmetologist at The Hairport Salon in Lancaster.
    The groom is the son of Cathy Tarlton and James Moseley, both of Lancaster. He attended Lancaster High School and works for Asplund Tree Company.
    Maid of honor was Stephanie Dixon of Lancaster.

  • Hensley-Price Engagement

    Barry and Shelia Hensley announce the engagement of their daughter, April Hensley, all of Lancaster, to Dennis Price II of Vale, N.C.
    The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Sept. 13, 2014, at Center Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Waxhaw.
    Miss Hensley is a 2011 graduate of Indian Land High School and works for Krispy Kreme.
    Mr. Price is the son of Shawn and Amanda Price of Lawndale, N.C. He is the grandson of Ray and Shelia Johnson of Vale. He is a 2011 graduate of Burns High School and is a volunteer firefighter.

    Ralph Edwin Couch of Heath Springs and Mika Herring Couch of Lancaster, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay Shea Couch of Lancaster, to Dallas Grayson Glover of Charlotte.
    A June wedding is planned at Second Baptist Church in Lancaster.
    Miss Couch is the granddaughter of Daisy Sims Couch of Heath Springs and the late Ralph Elliott Couch and Valda Byrd Herring of Lancaster and the late Maxie Donald Herring.
