It’s not too late for 2013 high school graduates to get into college this fall, even if applications haven’t already been filed.
From 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, York Technical College, 452 S. Anderson Road in Rock Hill will host Connect YTC: Enrollment Day 2013, said Michael McAllister, the college’s marketing coordinator for college advancement.
At this free event, prospective students will be able to gain instant admission to the college, complete express registration for fall classes and learn about scholarships, grants and other funding available.
Monique Perry, York Tech director of strategic communications and marketing, calls Tuesday “a great opportunity” for future students.
“Connect YTC is a great opportunity for anyone who is thinking about college or has applied to York Tech to jump start the process for fall,” Perry said.
“We’ve made it simple to pursue higher education or start a new career.
“We’re also offering great contest prizes, including 10, $500 scholarships, five $250 textbook scholarships and two Dell laptops for those who attend.”
Information will be available for students to know the three most important things about paying for college. There will also be parental tips for to help students succeed in the freshman year.
Testimonials will be given by former and current students who will share why they chose to attend York Technical College.
Another planned, special presentation is, “Start Here, Finish There: The Benefits of University and Engineering Transfer.”
Also at this event, there will be information on successful strategies for working or unemployed adults returning to college.
Free refreshments and a special gift from the college will be available to all attendees.
