York sweep spoils ILHS's gym debut

INDIAN LAND – York spoiled Indian Land’s debut in the new Warriors’ gym in a high school basketball sweep Tuesday night.

The Cougars clawed the IL teams twice – 90-56 in the nightcap after the York girls cruised to a 60-29 win.

York shot to a 22-9 lead in the opening period and held a 44-22 lead at the break. The Warriors used a 9-5 run to open the second half to make it 49-31, but couldn’t get closer in the nightcap.

York, up 64-37 after three periods, cruised to the 90-56 win.
