Writer seeks answers about Obama

I am not quite sure who I am going to vote for in this presidential election. I have some questions that I need to get answers to before I make up my mind. President Barack Obama once said Karl Marx had a few good ideas. I hope someone, more educated than me, can tell me what those ideas are.
Why did Obama choose to announce his relection on Marx’s birthday? Why did he choose “Forward,” the slogan that has been used by the socialist party in Europe for the past 114 years as his campaign slogan?
