FORT LAWN – A Lancaster woman was killed in an early morning accident on Monday, July 7, when she crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Sandra Darlene Coleman, 46, 116 Barron Blvd., was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:49 a.m. Monday said Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker.

“She died of multiple trauma,” Tinker said.

According to the accident report, about 5:30 a.m. Monday, Coleman, who was driving a 2004 Honda Sedan traveling north on Catawba River Road (U.S. 21) in Chester County, crossed left of center and struck a 2000 Dodge pick-up driven by Lieng Jioneson, 23, of Charlotte, said S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Gary Miller.

Jioneson, who was wearing a seat belt, had no passengers in his vehicle and sustained no injuries, Miller said.

Coleman was not wearing a seat belt and had no passengers in her vehicle.

Miller said it was not yet known why Coleman drifted into oncoming traffic.

“There are no charges at this time and the case is still under investigation,” Miller said.

This is the second fatal wreck on Chester County roads in just over a month.

Juan Thompson, 39, of Carlisle, died May 26 in a motorcycle wreck.
