An 87-year-old Lancaster woman was involved in an unusual one-vehicle wreck Wednesday morning after she placed mail in the outside post office drop box.
Virginia Flowers was leaving the Lancaster Post Office about 9:30 a.m. in her 1991 Chevrolet Corsica. She crossed Leroy Street to First Palmetto Savings Bank.
She drove through the bank's parking lot, over the wall separating the sidewalk and landed in the middle of Main Street. She then drove into a house across the street, according to Anthony James, who witnessed the accident.
