County Wrestling Roundup

Indian Land had matters pretty much in hand as the Warriors notched a 57-12 wrestling win over Lewisville in Richburg on Wednesday night.

IL pin winners included Taylor Pendleton, Jonathon Rowe, Brad Newell, Eric Komorous, Rondreas Truesdale, Will Cox, Michael Bryant and Marc Morris.

Brodie Freeman posted a decision at 140.

Indian Land returns to the mat tonight when the Warriors host Cuthbertson High School of Waxhaw in a dual match in the IL Elementary School gym at 5:30.

The Warriors’ annual dual tournament, set for last weekend, has been canceled and, due to schedule conflicts, will not be made up.

In action tonight, Lancaster travels to Rock Hill in a Region III-AAAA match. The Bruins hosted Spartanburg on Thursday night.

Buford also visited Central High School of Pageland for a three-way match with the host Eagles and Cheraw on Thursday at 6 p.m.

The matches were completed after the deadline for the Friday edition.

See Sunday’s edition for results of the matches.

In middle school wrestling action, Buford Middle School, 13-3, will take six wrestlers to the state tournament on Saturday at Lexington High School. The BMS wrestlers qualified for the state field in qualifying meets at South Pointe High School last month and Fort Mill High School last week.
