USCL rolls with sweep of Limestone jayvees

The 13th-ranked University of South Carolina Lancers rolled to a pair of non-region baseball wins, taking two from the Limestone junior varsity in Gaffney on Wednesday.
The Lancers, 25-4, swept the Junior Saints, 9-3 and 11-2.
In the six-run win, John McClure, 5-1, was the  winner in four innings of work. He allowed two runs, both earned, three hits, three walks and hit a batter.
Logan Segee, the former Buford High ace, went three innings and yielded a run and a hit. He fanned two. Brian Hill pitched an inning to compete the mound effort.
Stuart Pound paced the Lancers’ offense with three hits, including a triple and a double, and drove in three runs.
Jared Huffman laced two doubles and drove home a run. Brantley Rumford rapped two doubles. Jordan Williams provided two hits.
Kyle Towles had a hit and drove in two runs. Jacob Murphy and Randy Luckett supplied a hit and a RBI.
Julian Steen doubled and Dolan Crolley added a hit.
Colt Ellis, the former BHS standout, drew a walk.
The Lancers also rolled in the nightcap, notching an 11-2 victory.
Jacob Murphy had the big bat with two hits and three runs batted in.
Byron Haag supplied a single and a triple and drove in a run.
Julian Steen had a single and a double. Randy Luckett banged a single and drove in three runs.
Jared Huffman and Blake Outlaw each had a hit and drove in a run.
Kyle Towles provided a RBI and drove in two runs. Dolan Crolley drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Brantley Rumford and Colt Ellis each scored a run.
Lancers starter Ritchie Robinson, 2-0, was the winner in three innings of work.
He allowed two hits and a walk. Robinson fanned three.
Brandon Faulkenberry went two frames and gave up a walk with a strikeout.
Ben Keane pitched an inning and allowed two earned runs, a hit and two walks.
Travis Shelley posted two strikeouts in an inning of work.
The Lancers will wrap up their weekend series today with a twin bill in Allendale where USCL faces USC Salkehatchie.
