The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office has released the names of the two people killed in a car crash on Camp Creek Road on Tuesday.

Heather D. Johnson, 19, of 2637 Home Place Lane, and Jose Luise Torres De La Luz, 23, of 1662 Ruth St., died in the crash, Lancaster County Coroner Mike Morris said Wednesday.

De La Luz was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force head and chest trauma, Morris said.

Johnson was taken to Springs Memorial Hospital, where she died at 7:01 p.m. Tuesday of chest injuries.

Johnson was driving a 1993 Plymouth minivan west on Camp Creek Road, said S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Josef Robinson. De La Luz was a passenger in the van.

Johnson drove off the right side of the road and overcorrected to the left, Robinson said. She drove left of the center line and was hit by a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Toiya Evans of 1728 Feature Road.

The minivan was then hit on the passenger side by a 2002 Toyota 4runner driven by Tina Enfinger, 43, of 5492 Tabernacle Road. Enfinger was driving east on Camp Creek Road.

First Sgt. Lonnie Plyler of the Highway Patrol said the van was sideways in the road when it was struck by the Toyota.

Johnson was wearing a seat belt; De La Luz was not, Robinson said.

Enfinger and her passengers – her son, Joshua, 18, and daughter, Allison, 11 – were all wearing seat belts. They were all taken to Springs Memorial Hospital.

Evans, the driver of the Chevrolet, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

The Highway Patrol’s Multi-interdisciplinary Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash. No charges have been filed. Robinson said it was raining at the time of the crash, but the cause of the crash was not known Thursday.
