Truck-driving trainer hopes to bring jobs

VAN WYCK – It’s taken him more than 20 years, but Steven Muratore is ready to make his and several aspiring truck drivers’ dreams come true.

Muratore opened the KDS Commercial Driver Training Institute in Van Wyck on June 25 with the hope that he could help reduce the county’s high unemployment numbers.

Through extensive classroom and on-the-road training, Muratore said students will be able to earn their Commercial Drivers License, Class A, allowing them to drive tractor-trailer trucks.
