In his March 21 letter, “Iran No. 1 country for exporting terrorism,” Ronald Hopkins is under the impression that I think Iran should be allowed to have nuclear weapons. I discussed a peaceful nuclear program in my letter, “It’s time for us to repair the world,” in the Feb. 3 edition of The Lancaster News.
There’s no doubt Iran is involved with terrorism. I served in the Army long enough to know that a lot of the weapons being used against us have come from Iran. If Israel preemptively attacks Iran Ahmadinejad probably will try to wipe Israel off the map.
Iran is very weak right now due to economic sanctions. What would it lose if it went to war with Israel? Did I say anything about Iran or nuclear weapons? You clearly have no idea what I was talking about. We’re obviously not on the same page even if I’ve been hiding, in a cave and staring at the shadows on the wall.
How many more American casualties will it take to realize where our true enemies live? We’re running around Afghanistan looking for our enemies who have dispersed into other Middle Eastern and African countries. The French shooter supposedly has ties with al Qaeda. Who knows how many other sleeper cells they have out there? This is one person. What else do they have in mind? If the incident in France has shown the global community anything it’s that we need to be vigilant against al Qaeda and the countries that have supported them financially or with weapons. Iran, China, and Russia have all traded weapons that have eventually ended up in our enemy’s possession.
I enjoyed your comparison of Muslims and Christians. They could care less about the liberal left. They hate those who aren’t Muslim – we are on the top of their hit list. What will it take for Congress to declare war on Iran? It’s not like the liberal left are in cahoots with extremist Muslims plotting the downfall of the United States. They have so much in common.
The liberal left is trying to proliferate freedoms they think are fundamental constitutional rights. Their separation of church and state agenda may be a twisted view of the First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that this applies to the states as well. So much for states’ rights. This probably should be changed.
Americans, Iranians and the people of the world are all God’s children. If you want to go to war lead the way. Maybe then I could use my nonsensical thinking to graduate basic training again.
I’m glad that you admit that this country is dying. Don’t you think it’s about time to put our country on life support so that it can recover and be healthy again?
